NGUYEN NGUYEN

Co-Chairman - Founding Partner

Mr. Nguyen Trong Nguyen is at present the Founder of several Vietnamese and international companies including EGW New World Energy Joint Stock Company (Vietnam), EF Global AMP Co. Ltd. (Vietnam), EG VTOL Pte. Ltd. (Singapore), EF Global VTOL LLC (USA) and EG VTOL Inc. (USA). He has 43 years of professional experience in entrepreneurship, project development, investment and financing, business and strategy development for advanced technology solutions.

Since 2012, he is the Vietnam Country Director and South East Asia Representative of ACO Investment Group and its portfolio company CONVALT Energy LLC. Since 2017, he is also the Vietnam Country Representative of The MITRE Corporation. From 2008 to 2013, he was the Vietnam Partner and Director for Asia Operations of AIRIS International Holdings, a privately owned developer of airport facility and logistics infrastructure based in Houston, Texas. He was also a member of the founding team of BAP Power Corporation and its subsidiary company Cenergy Power.

Mr. Nguyen received his training in architecture at City College of San Francisco and at the University of California at Berkeley, in industrial design at San Francisco State University, California. USA. He holds a dual nationality Vietnamese and American and he is fluent in English, Vietnamese and French.

Duc Tran

Co-Chairman - Founding Partner

Prior to joining IDG in 2006, Mr. Duc Tran had worked 18 years up to the Partner level at Deloitte Vietnam, where he oversaw varieties of the Assurance services, Corporate Finance Advisories as well as Tax Advisories and Management Solutions.

Mr. Duc completed the Harvard Business School’s Program for Leadership Development in 2012. He earned the B.A. Business Degree from the National Economics University, the B.A. Law Degree from University of Social Science and Humanities, both in Vietnam. From 1996 to 2001, he went to USA for working and studying and earned the MBA Finance Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. He attained CPA certifications in both Vietnam and the United States, California jurisdiction.

Among many affiliations, Mr. Duc Tran has served as a member of the Vietnam Associations for Financial Investment, Young Businesses Associations, Chief Accountants Association, Entrepreneurship Businesses Association, and Vietnam Securities Associations, etc.

Chairman & CEO of Pham Khang Investment Construction JSC

After graduating from the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, Mr. Tien has 20-year experience on the field of pre-engineered steel buildings, high-rise steel structures, tanks, HRSG, ACC, and smart cold storage construction.

Mr. Tien’s specialty is mechanical engineering. He acquires numerous certificates related to technology and management, such as the Lean Manufacturing Breakthrough Techniques Certificate, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 Certificate, Diploma of International Institute of Welding Base Level.

Mr. Tien has led various important projects, domestically and internationally, including (measured by the tons of steel required): Project First Solar (Steel Structure Work)‐FSDNM1 (Cu Chi‐ HCMC): 6,000 tons,

Project Amigos Marine at Vung Tau: 3,000 tons,

Project Vietnam Waste Treatment Plant at HCMC: 4,500 tons,

Project CMI (Boilers, Chimneys, Casings, Ducts): 6,000 tons,

Project Boi Mariot Hotel Kabul Capital in Afghanistan: 4,500 tons,

Project Hyosung Polypropylene (PP) factory and LPG underground storage: 8,000 tons.

THANG NGHIEM

General Director of Miraway Digital Transformation JSC

Mr. Thang is currently the General Director of Miraway Digital Transformation JSC, one of the leading companies in the domestic digital transformation market, automation and security solutions.

With more than 18 years of experience in information security, including 15 years in information security for the banking industry, Mr. Thang has held the position of Deputy General Director and Director of IT Center – Post Commercial Joint Stock Bank. Lien Viet Electricity (LienVietPostBank), then IT Director of Southern Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SouthernBank), holding a key position in the IT field at Vietnam Technological and Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Techcombank), VinGroup, Viet A Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VietAbank), Vietnam Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (VietBank), Sao Bac Dau Technology Joint Stock Company, Onefin Vietnam, Electricity Finance Joint Stock Company (EVN Finance)

Typical projects: implementing Corebanking the fastest in the world in 2008, successfully implementing the project of merging the banking and postal systems to create the first postal banking model in Vietnam. THAO TRAN

Chairman of SaigonTech Education Corporation & Director of Institute for International Education

Dr. Thao started his career at Hue College of Education in 1977, and earned an MA in TESOL at the University of Canberra in 1990.

After serving as a Dean in the Department of English, Hue College of Education, he entered the doctoral program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education under the auspices of the Fulbright program and received a Ph.D. in Education Administration in 1998.

He has held the following positions and responsibilities:

Director of the Fulbright Program in Vietnam at the U.S. Embassy;
Vice Provost for Academic Affairs of Tan Tao University (Long An);
Director of Openminds International at Ton Duc Thang University;
Vice Rector for International Relations of Van Lang University,
Director of International Cooperation & Partnership of Van Lang Edu Group,
Deputy CEO of Nguyen Hoang Edu Group, in charge of R&D.

Currently, Dr. Thao is Director of Vietnam Institute for International Education and Chairman of SaigonTech Education Corporation, HCMC, Vietnam.

THI CAO

Vice President Thang Long UDIC JSC

Mr. Thi is excellent in a wide range of professions related to mechanical engineering and industrial zone. He graduated from Thai Nguyen engineering college with outstanding performance before dedicating his expertise to Vietnam Institute of Mining – Metallurgy Science and Technology for the next 22 years.

Mr. Thi has 20 years of experience in working with industrial park zones in Vietnam under the company VPID. He also cooperated with Foxconn to manage a number of their projects. Lately, he is in charge of financial controlling, marketing and developing sections of Thang Long UDIC.

Mr. Thi holds an MBA of industrial economics from the National Economics University, class of 1986.

Huy Do

Investment Manager

Mr. Huy has 10-year experience working in the investment field for the Ministry of Finance of Vietnam, appraising and monitoring a number of public sector projects, including ports, industrial zones and logistics centers. Therefore, he is able to provide valuable insights and angle from the government sphere.

With firm financial foundation, Mr. Huy is also in charge of business analysis and project evaluation of the Fund.

He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting at Academy of Finance of Vietnam and a Master’s Degree in Policy and Management at The University of Melbourne, Australia.

Brian Nguyen

Operation Director

Mr. Brian is very much experienced in the local market with in-depth understanding of the environment in which businesses operate, the government and the industries. He has got involved in new business set up, business builder, capable of leading small and medium size businesses and be able to manage projects and follow through.

His experience and proven track record related to maritime industry and real estate are noticeable due to long durations holding the Deputy CEO and CEO position of leading companies in the market.

Mr. Brian graduated BBA in Economics in 2003 and achieved MBA at Marshall University (USA) in 2007.

Huan Tran

Technical Manager

Mr. Huan is responsible for deal sourcing, management of portfolio companies, and exiting strategy. He leads the fields related to logistics and warehousing sectors.

He worked at Mapletree as a Senior Associate Director. In addition, he worked for BTA Investment Management and was responsible for managing the investments of Kusto.

Mr. Huan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Architectural Studies and a Master’s Degree in Construction Management from University of Southern California. He also completed the Program for Leadership Development Program at Harvard Business School in 2015.

Duc Huynh

Real Estate Expert & Customer Manager

Mr. Duc has more than 12 years of experience in business, project development and financial investment. He holds senior positions at T&T Group and is in charge of business development, marketing, and project management for member companies of the corporation.

He has also held various positions at large corporations in Vietnam such as Vingroup, Savills, Colliers … and has developed business for many private partners and enterprises into many big projects systems in Vietnam.

Mr. Duc holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration of Hanoi University of Technology and Science and a number of Certificates in sales and business management skills, including Dale Carnegie Certificate , SALT, Crestcom.

ROBERT HUGHES

Senior Advisor Fundraising International Relation

Mr. Robert provides comprehensive advisory insights on investment strategy and operation.

He has 40 years of experience working in global business and investment. He was the first CEO of Vietjet Air, Vietnam’s first private airline. Prior to that, he was the General Director of Hewlett-Packard in Thailand and Vietnam, as well as General Director for Cisco Systems in Vietnam.

He has worked across several functions, including finance, sales, and general management. He has also worked across several industries, including technology, education, financial services, aviation, agriculture and mining. He has served on several Boards in oversight and governance roles.

Mr. Robert holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Class of 1987.

TIEN NGUYEN (TIM)

Senior Advisor Technical Expert

Mr. Tien has profound experience with 32 years working in entrepreneur and professional field.

He was the Project Testing and Safety Principal of Dahlgren Division, Virginia, which belongs to the Department of Defense, Naval Surface Warfare Center of the United States.

Currently, Mr. Tien is the Co-Founder and Vice Chairman of Diginet Corporation, the shareholder and member of BOD of VTM Software JSC, the mentor and investor at LISC company, and the Founder and CEO of LBD company.

Mr. Tien received his training in Mechanical Engineer at Drexel University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.

ROBIN MCPHAIL

Senior Advisor Strategy & Fundraising

He has many working experiences includes Chairman, strategy and audit committee roles. Currently managing director of specialist advisory business based in Singapore, Volta Associates Pte Ltd. Co-Founder and Managing Director of Deloitte Emerging Markets Group, a leader in expanding the role of private sector in economic development.

Mr. Robin has broad experience in change management in private and public sector organizations. Experienced in the application of international sustainability best practice in financial, agribusiness and other sectors.

He is the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Deloitte Emerging Markets Group, a leader in expanding the role of private sector in economic development.
