Due to the A-shape roofs of the UBM®’s structures, a rooftop solar panel system can be installed to generate electricity. This is an important additional source of energy when operating the warehouse.
Power produced by the photovoltaic (‘PV’) panels can be contributed to the gross energy consumption, or be stored in the ESS for later usage.
Industrial and commercial energy storage system (‘ESS’) is mainly applied in grid-connected and off-grid mode. The ESS plays a crucial role in
- Neutralizing the price difference between peak and off-peak prices (charging the ESS from the grid in off-peak hours and consuming that stored energy for peak hours);
- Acting as a backup power source under power failure or instability scenarios;
- Providing electricity for off-grid environment;
- Maintaining power supply for microgrids.
By combining a number of 210 kWh Energy storage systems together, the storage capacity is expanded to 2.26 MWh for a 20ft container cabinet, and to 4.52 MWh for a 40ft container cabinet.
